Frank Ocean was scheduled to be one of the headliners at next weekend’s Primavera Festival in Barcelona, but he has canceled the performance. Per a tweet from the festival’s official account:

Here’s the full statement from the festival:

We regret to announce that Frank Ocean’s concert programmed on Friday 2nd June in the Parc del Fòrum as part of Primavera Sound festival has been cancelled due to production delays beyond his control. The artist has apologised and has reiterated his wish to come to Barcelona soon.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this situation and we appreciate your understanding. Soon we will inform you about the possible changes to the schedule in light of the above.

People who have a day ticket for Friday 2nd June will be able to ask for a refund of the sale price until Tuesday 30th May at 11:59 pm (GMT+1).

From Wednesday 31st and depending on the number of refund applications, a new batch of day tickets for the Friday will go on sale through the Primavera Sound Portal and Redtkt.

Additional info on refunding etc is available on their site.

No further explanation was given about why his set has been canceled. This is the third festival appearance Ocean has canceled, following an announcement that he’d be puling out of Sasquatch, and the news from a couple weeks ago that he would no longer be performing at Hangout Fest. LCD Soundsystem stepped in for his Sasquatch performance, and Phoenix took over his headlining slot for Hangout, but both of those bands occupy a totally different space than Ocean does.

Following last year’s incredible sophomore release Blonde — which we thought was the best record of the year — Ocean has been releasing a string of one-off singles, mostly through his new Beats 1 Radio show. However, no new music will ever replace the planning and excitement that most fans put into catching an artist’s headlining set at a festival, so these three appearances have been really disappointing to many fans. Ocean’s camp hasn’t given much word beyond production delays, which makes sense given the singer/songwriter’s perfectionist attitude.
